"I approach each painting as a start of a conversation of sorts. Each painting is like the window in a confessional booth. On one side sits the artist, the other side the viewer. If the painting works, the window opens, and the conversation starts. In a domestic space, there are geometric and organic shapes. There's an opportunity for pattern in fabrics. I get to paint different types of surfaces, like wood or carpet. Together all the material aspects of an interior represent a life and memories both familiar and unfamiliar."
Brian is a nationally recognized, award-winning oil painter based in Mason, Ohio, where he lives with his wife and daughter. A passionate cook, baker, and gardener, he draws creative inspiration from the same activities that fill his creative well and home life. Brian studied at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and The Atelier School of Fine Arts in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he mastered traditional techniques that now define his photo-realistic oil paintings.
